Furniture Disposal Brixton

Brixton Furniture Disposal for Flats and Houses in SW2 and SW9

A large share of Brixton homes are flats: Victorian houses split into two or three units, purpose-built blocks and estates, and flats above shops along Brixton Road, Acre Lane and Coldharbour Lane. That makes getting an old sofa or bed out a two-person job at least, often down narrow stairs. Our team handles it from start to finish, so you don’t need to move anything to the street yourself.

Up and down Brixton’s stairs

Converted Victorian houses often have steep, narrow staircases with a tight turn at the top, and flats above shops can be reached by a separate side door and long flight of stairs. Our two or three person team takes large items apart on site, including wardrobes, bed frames and corner sofas, so they leave without damaging walls, banisters or communal hallways. Where an estate block has a lift, we’ll use it; where it doesn’t, we carry everything down by hand and sweep up afterwards.

What we take away

• Sofas, armchairs, futons and sofa beds
• Mattresses, beds, bed frames and headboards
• Wardrobes, drawers, bookcases and storage units
• Tables, chairs, desks and office chairs
• Fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers and other white goods

We’ll come out for a single mattress or a full van load. The fixed price is agreed before we start, based on the space your items take up in the van and how easy they are to reach.

Parking near the town centre

Roads around Brixton station, Electric Avenue and the market are busy, and most residential streets nearby are permit controlled. Let us know your parking situation when you book and we’ll plan where to stop. Same day or next day collection is often available, and we’re open Saturday mornings.

What happens to your furniture

Good quality items are passed on for reuse where possible. The rest is separated so metal, timber and fabric can be recycled. White goods go to licensed WEEE recyclers, and fridges and freezers go to licensed facilities that deal with the gases safely. Up to 90% of what we collect is recycled or reused. We never fly-tip, and every job comes with a waste transfer note from an Environment Agency registered carrier (CBDU333885).

Council bulky collections can take weeks to come round, and many charities won’t take upholstered furniture without a fire label. Whether you’re a tenant moving out, a landlord between lets or just replacing a sofa, we’re a quicker option. We cover Brixton along with Stockwell, Herne Hill, Tulse Hill and Clapham.
