Furniture Disposal Grays

Furniture Disposal in Grays and Across Thurrock

Replacing a sofa, clearing a bedroom or moving out of a flat in Grays usually leaves you with at least one item that’s too big to deal with. EM Waste Clearance collects unwanted furniture across Grays and the RM16 and RM17 postcodes, carrying it out of your home and making sure it’s reused or recycled rather than dumped.

Homes we collect from

Grays has a wide range of housing, which means a wide range of access challenges. There are Victorian and Edwardian terraces close to the town centre and the State Cinema, newer flats near Grays station and the riverside, post-war houses in Little Thurrock and Badgers Dene, and modern estates in Chafford Hundred and Stifford Clays. Our two or three person team collects from any room and any floor, including upstairs flats without a lift. You don’t need to get anything down to the kerb.

Furniture and white goods we remove

• Sofas, sofa beds, armchairs and footstools
• Beds, mattresses and bed frames
• Wardrobes, chests of drawers, cabinets and bookcases
• Dining tables, chairs and desks
• Fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers and tumble dryers

We’ll take a single item or a full van load. Large pieces are dismantled on site to protect walls and doorways, and we sweep up before leaving.

Why not wait for the council?

Council bulky collections can take weeks to arrive, and many charities won’t take upholstered furniture without fire labels. If you’re moving out, have a new sofa on the way, or just want the space back, waiting isn’t always practical. We can often collect the same day or the next day. The price depends on how much space your items take up in the van and how easy it is to reach them, and it’s agreed before we start.

Where it all ends up

Good quality furniture is passed on for reuse where possible. Metal, timber and fabric are recycled, white goods go to licensed WEEE recyclers and fridges and freezers go to licensed facilities that deal with the gases safely. Up to 90% of the waste we collect is recycled or reused. We’re a family run, fully licensed and insured business with 15+ years’ experience, registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier (CBDU333885), and every job comes with a waste transfer note.

Landlords with rental flats in Grays also use us between tenancies to remove beds, sofas and broken appliances left behind, so the property is ready for the next tenant.
