Furniture Disposal Tunbridge Wells

Furniture Disposal in Tunbridge Wells, Room by Room

Royal Tunbridge Wells has some of the most attractive housing in Kent, but grand Victorian villas and Regency terraces weren’t designed with modern sofas in mind. Our furniture disposal service in Tunbridge Wells is built around getting large, heavy items out of all kinds of homes safely, then making sure they’re reused or recycled rather than dumped.

Converted Flats and Period Staircases

A large share of homes in the TN1 and TN2 areas are flats in converted period houses, particularly around Mount Sion, Calverley Park, the roads off Mount Pleasant and towards Camden Road. They often mean several flights of stairs with tight turns and no lift. We collect from any floor, and our two or three person team takes apart wardrobes, beds and other big pieces on site where needed, so nothing damages the walls, cornicing or banisters on the way down. There’s never any need to bring items out to the pavement first.

Elsewhere, homes in St John’s, Sherwood, Showfields and Hawkenbury range from Victorian terraces to post-war houses, and we regularly collect from neighbouring Southborough, Rusthall, Pembury, Langton Green and Speldhurst too.

Furniture and Appliances We Remove

• Sofas, armchairs, chaise longues and sofa beds
• Beds, mattresses and bed frames, including heavy antique-style frames
• Wardrobes, chests of drawers, dressers and bookcases
• Dining tables, chairs, sideboards and desks
• Fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers and dishwashers

A Practical Alternative

Council bulky collections can take weeks to arrive, and charities often won’t accept upholstered items that are missing fire labels. That leaves a lot of people stuck with an old sofa or mattress they can’t move on their own. We can often collect the same day or next day, and you’ll know the price before we start. It’s fixed, based on the space the items take up in the van and how straightforward the access is, which matters when parking on narrow residential streets in the town centre.

Good quality furniture is passed on for reuse where possible. The rest is broken down so metal, timber and fabric can be recycled. White goods go to licensed WEEE recyclers, and fridges and freezers go to licensed facilities that deal with the gases safely. Up to 90% of what we collect is recycled or reused. EM Waste Clearance is family run, Environment Agency registered (CBDU333885), and you’ll receive a waste transfer note for every job.
