Furniture Disposal Mitcham

Furniture Disposal Across Mitcham and CR4

Getting rid of a big piece of furniture is rarely as easy as it sounds. It has to come out of the room, down the stairs, through the front door and somewhere legal. EM Waste Clearance does all of that for you. Our furniture disposal service covers Mitcham and the surrounding parts of Merton, and we take everything from a single armchair to a whole flat’s worth of furniture.

Items we regularly take away

• Sofas, corner sofas, sofa beds and armchairs
• Mattresses, divan bases, bed frames and headboards
• Wardrobes, chests of drawers, sideboards and cabinets
• Dining tables and chairs, desks and office chairs
• Fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers and dishwashers

Flats, maisonettes and tight terraces

A lot of homes in Mitcham are flats and maisonettes, from low-rise blocks near Mitcham Eastfields station to flats above shops on London Road. We collect from any room and any floor, including upstairs flats with no lift. Bulky pieces such as wardrobes and bed frames are dismantled on site, so we don’t scuff stairwells or take chunks out of door frames. In the Victorian terraces around Figges Marsh, where hallways are narrow, that makes a big difference.

Not waiting weeks

Council bulky waste collections can take weeks, and many charities won’t take upholstered furniture unless it still has its fire safety labels. If you’ve got a new sofa due or a flat to hand back, waiting isn’t always an option. Our furniture disposal service is often available same day or next day, and you don’t have to move anything to the kerb.

Where your furniture ends up

Good quality furniture is passed on for reuse wherever we can. The rest is broken down so metal, timber and fabric can be recycled. White goods go to licensed WEEE recyclers, and fridges and freezers go to licensed facilities that handle the gases safely. Up to 90% of what we collect is recycled or reused, and you’ll get a waste transfer note under our licence CBDU333885.

If you’re replacing furniture, it helps to book the collection for the morning your new pieces arrive, or the day before. That way the old sofa or bed is gone before the delivery team turns up and there’s no shuffling things around the hallway.

Pricing is simple: a fixed price agreed before we start, based on how much room your items take up in the van and how easy access is. We’re family run with more than 15 years’ experience.

We collect throughout Mitcham, plus Colliers Wood, Tooting, Streatham, Norbury and Morden.
